Beware that if caught you can be suspended, kicked out of computer class, varience revoked and in some cases, schools press charges. This is not just about you and you MySpace; teachers and administration and parents are calling this hacking and identy theft. So be ready for the consequences.
Two Main Reasons Schools block MySpace-
1) Schools, like all networks owned by small/medium companies, only have a limited amount of bandwidth to share among 1000s of users. A lot of that is going to legitimate systems (maybe your grades, evaluations, testing). Other parts are being used by students to be able research projects and have an online access to important answers to things they are studying. Because bandwidth is a finite source, and Facebook/Myspace will use a little (or a lot) of bandwidth depending on the page content, they are blocked.
2) Schools have to take Due Care and Due Diligence that they protect people under 18 from viewing material that is indecent. They cannot trust MySpace and Facebook’s creators to do this for them. Instead of taking that risk, it is much easier for them to block all of them then take the risk of having a student download pornography or questionable content from one of these pages.
Finally, some of these pages are created with files that could harm the school’s network (malware). You have a much greater chance of getting a virus from MySpace vice FoxNews.(Tim W. on Yahoo Answers)
And lastly, It isn’t YOUR computer. parents and tax payers who fund the schools have a say in what should go on at school.
